First and foremost, the DK House Tokyo Shin-Koiwa Share House is located at a place called Shin-Koiwa station.
It takes around 30 minutes by train on the JR Sobu line from Shinjuku station. The fact that you can access this place on a direct train make it an attractive feature about this place transportation wise.
Here are some of the interesting and useful places that I personally would like to show you. They are located along a shopping street that is called " LUMIERE ".
You can find all kinds of items ranging from foods, tiny electrical appliances, clothing and household items. When you first move to Japan, keeping to a specific budget is probably the most important thing for most of you. Using a store like this helps you save money and to be honest with you, the items that you find here are really good quality.
Foreigners have this general idea that second hand shops sell bad quality items but, the second hand shops that you find in Japan have well maintained items that sometimes look brand new! You can also sell your items here too if you no longer need them. Second hand shops can be your lifesaver sometimes especially if you are on a budget. For example, when it comes to buying jackets for suites.
Even if you lived in Japan for many months or many years, at some point you will start to crave the foods from your home country. This store sells various kinds of Asia foods and drinks.
I have noticed for the past 3 years or so, the number of foreigners that are vegetarians has increased and to be honest, it can be a bit challenging to find restaurants that have meals that vegetarians can eat too. The cool thing about Indian restaurants, you can find foods that are catered to vegetarians. In case you can't find anything, there are a number of grocery stores in the same area. For example, a large grocery store called " GYOMU " ( shown below, picture number 2 ).
Besides having many Japanese food restaurants and Western style restaurants, you find quite a number of SouthEast Asian food and drink stores. Here are some examples.
i. Golden Ratio ( Taiwan )
ii. Bangkok Orchid ( Thai )
iii Cheap bento for 280 yen !
Bentos or already packed food in English can be found in every convenient store but the price of such items usually starts from 400 yen. However, this local bento store sells it's items for only 280 yen and they are really large !
The places that I have mentioned above are just some interesting places that I personally think are great to check out. There are still a number of places that can help you out with your daily necessities. You can get more information from the Shin-Koiwa Manager who resides at the accommodation.
